Situated on the outskirts of St Austell on the South Coast of Cornwall is Charlestown Harbour, an unspoilt, original Grade II Listed harbour. Used as a key location for the filming of the BBC’s remake of the 1970’s hit series ‘Poldark’, it has also been used for ‘Dr. Who’, Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and many other films and TV programmes. Privately owned, Charlestown harbour is renowned for its visitor centre, resident sailing ships, restaurants and pub, all within walking distance.
St Austell offers good shops, inns and restaurants, as well as a choice of beaches in the bay. Visit the famous Eden Project, home to several events and concerts throughout the year. Close to the sandy beach at Carlyon Bay, 1 mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 700 yards.

Lovely clean and spacious cottage. It’s in a great location, with good links to other towns and cities. I would definitely book this cottage again.

sadly we did not get the promised welcome pack curtain in lounge was broken and was told it was going to be repaired buy no one came round improvements that are needed more than two towels as we did not have tumble dryer more than one tea towel more than one rubbish bag more than one key when two couples stay key lock that I could not reach as it was over 6 feet above the floor recycling bags

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The house was extremely beautiful, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We felt like it was our little home. We had the best time ever during our stay. There was no day that we felt we couldn’t find anything to do . We are now considering moving to Cornwall. Thank u for making our holiday the best. ????

Lovely little house in the pretty village of Charlestown. Loren Cottage is beautifully decorated, well kept and spotlessly clean. It provided a very cosy base for us from which to explore the local area. Being in a coastal village gives the feeling of being away from it all but all amenities such a supermarket, bakery, post office etc were just a short drive away. Charlestown has a homely pub and several nice places to eat, plus a handful of shops and the beautiful tall ships to admire. Highly recommend this house and area.
