Gwel An Porth - Facilities

These two comfortable, Grade II listed holiday cottages are set with their separate little gardens in a picturesque, unspoilt Georgian harbour village which looks much the same now as it did 100 years ago, and is often used as a film location. Privately owned, Charlestown harbour is renowned for its visitor centre, resident sailing ships, restaurants and pub, all within walking distance of Charlestown Cottages. Two of an attractive little row, they lie in a conservation area just a mile from the sandy beach at Carlyon Bay. St Austell offers good shops, inns and restaurants, as well as a choice of beaches in the bay. Eden Project 4 miles. Lost Gardens of Heligan 5 miles. Mevagissey 6 miles. Excellent walks can be enjoyed along the coast. Shop ½ mile.

We had a lovely stay. We had read the reviews prior to booking, and were aware that there was no parking with the property, there is on street parking in Charlestown, within about a 5 minute walk. The cottage is well stocked and has everything you need. Minor criticism- the towels, although immaculately clean, were quite old, but this is being really picky, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and garden.

Absolutely love this cottage. Perfect location, just a short stroll from the harbour, beach, pubs and restaurants. Only minor criticism is there is no full length mirror in property and the secluded garden is effectively shared with the neighbouring property. But this is just nit-picking. Overall a fabulous stay.
