Water Wheals - Facilities

Perfectly situated to enjoy the benefits of Cornwall, these two converted clay drying buildings provide an ideal base to explore the countryside. The properties were once used as a clay drying facility and are part of the rich China Clay heritage of Cornwall. Cycling and walking on the official ’Clay Trails’ within the area are a must, on which you can explore the area and even reach the world famous Eden Project. St Austell with its leisure centre is approx 5 miles as is the village of Charlestown, home to ’tall ships’ and a shipwreck heritage museum that houses artefacts from the Titanic. The fishing village of Padstow is easily accessible. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches is approximately 12 miles away. The ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was the home to ’Daphne Du Maurier’; it has many events throughout the year such as the Du Maurier Festival and the Fowey Royal Reggatta. Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and Crealy Adventure Park are all within an easy drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
