The Old Coastguards Cottage - Facilities

One of the original coastguard cottages, high on the hill above Boscastle, this terraced home makes a great lookout point and boasts a quirky interior. The modern kitchen/dining room offers all mod cons, and the exposed red brick walls in the dining area add a touch of character. The cosy living room with wooden floors and a warming wood burner makes the perfect spot to sit back and relax after a day of exploring the area. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a zip and link bed and the other with a double bed. The Old Coastguards Cottage makes a perfect retreat for couples or a small family looking for a modern cottage in a superb location.

Just outside the village of Boscastle, along the road leading to Tintagel, this cosy property is in a great location for exploring this stretch of North Cornwall’s coastline. Boscastle has an old harbour and an assortment of shops, pubs and restaurants. Along the coast you will find Tintagel, well-known for the legend of King Arthur with its English Heritage medieval castle, as well as Merlin’s Cave. This lovely property makes a perfect retreat all year round, whether you are a family looking for a seaside holiday or a couple looking for a romantic escape, The Old Coastguards Cottage is a great choice. Beach 3¼ miles. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.

The Old Coastguards Cottage in Boscastle was beautifully presented and very warm and comfy. You can walk to Boscastle down the cliff path which has spectacular views! Highly recommend this place.

  • Donald - Portsmouth 2nd December 2019

    Our stay November, 2019

Cottage was great, views marvellous, weather was to be expected in November. Loved the wood burner and a netflix TV was nice for the long windy nights. WiFi was good. Couple of comments, no shaving plug in bathroom (which was down stairs), no drainer on the draining board and just one tea towel, minor but irritating. Overall excellent holiday cottage in a wonderful location.

Lovely cottage. Very well kept and comfortable. Great location for exploring and walking. Nice pub food in the Cobweb Inn in Boscastle. Take the coastal path back to cottage, at the end of the harbour, as its scenic and less strenuous than walking out by the main road. Had a brilliant week and would come back again.

This is a beautiful property in a beautiful part of the country. Boscastle is lovely, recommend the singing of the Boscastle Buoys at The Napoleon pub and the cream teas at the Bridge cafe. It's ideal for visiting Port Isaac.

Lovely cottage just on the edge of Boscastle village. Owner very helpful. Rang to let us know when it was free for us to go in. Lovely scones, clotted cream and other essentials were waiting for us when we arrived!

  • Apan - Twickenham 15th April 2019

    Our stay April, 2019

We had a fantastic 6 day break staying at the cottage. It is a lovely, cosy and homely place to stay which was perfect as a base to travel around Cornwall.

  • Sharman - Neath 3rd April 2019

    Our stay March, 2019

Well presented , warm and comfortable accommodation in a thoughtfully renovated coast guards cottage. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare and cook meals. Plenty of storage space for baggage and clothing. The modern walk in double shower was wonderful. The hosts provided the best homemade welcome pack we have experienced in 20 years of holidays in Cornwall. They were both welcoming and gave recommendations re entertainment and eating out.Easy travelling distance to Padstow and rest of North Cornwall and in beautiful location. I would suggest a washing line or rotary in the garden would be a useful addition. Would thoroughly recommend.
