Jarvies Cottage - Facilities

Tucked away at the top of the hill that leads down in to the attractive fishing village of Boscastle, you will find this traditional, stone, semi-detached cottage. Jarvies Cottage is perfect for a small family or two couples, and has a roaring wood burner that you can cosy up in front of on those cooler evenings. Enjoy a delicious meal in the dining room/conservatory, and then step out into the enclosed garden with a glass of your favourite tipple.
Boscastle is a unique fishing village, steeped in history, with a picturesque harbour, and many walks, shops, pubs and restaurants. Down the coast is Port Isaac, where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed, and just a little further along is Padstow where you’ll find Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. Nearby you will also find Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur. The lovely sandy beach at Trebartwith Strand is only 4 miles away, and horse riding and golf are also close by. You can also easily reach Polzeath, Rock, Bodmin Moor and the Eden Project. Beach 3 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Lovely cottage and very welcoming. Dog was able to stay in a separate conservatory and garden secure. Easy access to costal walks and local pubs. Main down side was parking. Hadn’t realised was narrow access and not really suitable for an estate car. Scratched the car one day and made leaving for day trips a stress before we even got going.

Excellent location, tricky parking but overall we had a very nice break.

The owner is lovely but the standard of cleanliness was really awful. When we arrived the cottage hadn't been cleaned or bedding changed. We pulled out a cutting board that was covered in mould. We had to wash everything before it could be used. There was a lot of dust on shelving where glasses are kept, dead flies on window ledges. The whole place needed a deep clean. Overall the place looked really shabby and unloved, which is a shame as Jarvies cottage has such a lot of potential and could be really charming if it was loved enough and looked after.

Jarvies Cottage is a lovely place to stay. Fully equipped cottage, it had everything we needed for self catering. The cream tea, bread and milk left for us by the owners was a really kind gesture and very welcome. The garden is really private and enclosed, where my daughters and dog spent many evenings relaxing. Overall the cottage and area were perfect for us and would highly recommend it. But it is a very long steep hill from the centre of Boscastle town to the cottage which was not a problem for us, but if you have difficulty walking then it may be
