This delightful, single-storey, semi-detached barn conversion is the perfect couple’s retreat. Snuggled in a small farming hamlet adjacent to the owner’s home, with its own private patio area, the property is ideally situated to explore the diverse countryside and coastline. The picturesque village and harbour of Mousehole is just a short drive away with its tiny cottages, winding streets and art galleries. There is an excellent pub and quality restaurant serving local produce, a small sandy beach and wide harbour wall.

Continue in to Newlyn and see the working fishing harbour, famous art school, galleries and multi-screen cinema. The long, flat promenade leads from Newlyn to Penzance passing the art deco open air swimming pool. Penzance has an array of shops, restaurants, cafés and a daily ferry service to the beautiful Isles of Scilly. The wide sweeping Mount’s Bay is overlooked by St Michael’s Mount perched on its rocky island. The mount can be reached at low tide on foot by causeway or high tide by small ferry boat. There is so much to see within a short drive including Lamorna Cove, Lands End, Sennen Cove and the open air Minack Theatre with the ocean as its backdrop. Beach 2½ miles. Shop 4 miles, pub 2 miles and restaurant 2½ miles.

Curlews - Reviews

  • Joan - Kesgrave, Suffolk 20th October 2019

    Our stay October, 2019

Amazing place to holiday, close to all everything that particular part of Cornwall has to offer. We had a 9 hour drive (including some pit stops) and were greeted by a smiling Olivia, who had had to talk us through the final part of the journey, and she did so with great goodwill and humour. The central heating had broken down but there is a super woodburner in place that lights up really quickly (everything you need supplied) and the cottage was as warm as toast in no time. Olivia had supplied oil radiators to warm the cottage up before we arrived in no time at all we were unpacked, warm, eating our complimentary cream tea (and amazing it was too). We went to Lands End, Mousehole, Penzance, St. Ives, St Michaels Mount and Marazion, and various landmarks, museums and galleries. Every evening we returned home we settled quickly into our perfect little holiday home. The bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom though small was lovely. A perfect couple retreat, and whatever you do dont let the weather put you off! It rained, hailed, and the wind blew a hooley (usually all in the same day), but we did everything we wanted to do and had a wonderful time. Thank you Olivia and husband xx

A lovely week spent at Curlews. Very comfortable, especially the bed. Shower was excellent. Very roomy. Would recommend this cottage which is situated in the country so very peaceful and quiet. Penzance is approx 3 miles away.
