Cosy Nook is a perfect name for this property, set in the popular village of Gerrans close to the village church, pub and coastal footpaths. Portscatho is a short walk down the hill with its popular beaches, restaurants, cafés, galleries and pubs.
As you step into the property the cosy feeling takes over with the open plan living/dining/kitchen room set out with comfy sofas to relax after your day exploring Cornwall. There is a Smart TV, dining table with chairs and a neatly fitted kitchen with appliances. There is also a washing machine located in the cupboard by the stairs. Set to the first floor is a bright family bathroom with shower over the bath. The bedroom to the front of the cottage has a double bed while the second bedroom can be a twin or a double if required.
In the village centre you’ll find several shops including a butchers and a decent grocery/off license as well as the now standard galleries and gift shops. The pub serves up St Austell Ales and good pub grub. Above Portscatho lies the village of Gerrans, only a 5-minute walk up the hill and another decent pub can be found here. The medieval church that stands opposite has served as an invaluable landmark to generations of local fishermen. Take the cliff path north out of Portscatho and in under 20 minutes you’ll be standing on the beautiful Porthcurnick beach. At low tide Porthcurnick has acres of flat sand perfect for games of cricket but you might have to wade a fair way to get a decent swim. It is a National Trust owned beach and toilet facilities are available. Further east still are Carne beach and Pendower beach which at low tide join to form an even bigger expanse of sand where dogs are allowed all year round.
