Willow Cottage - Facilities

Willow Cottage sits in a peaceful location which is perfect for exploring Cornwall’s coastlines, with easy access to the Lizard Peninusla, the UK’s most southerly point, and Land’s End, the most westerly point of mainland Cornwall and England. This delightful property has been lovingly renovated by its owners to provide guests with a cosy and comfortable residence, whilst retaining many of its original features. Be it an action-packed family holiday or a romantic retreat for couples, Willow Cottage suits all manner of holiday makers. This terraced cottage, with a private drive, is approached via a pedestrian gate and vine-covered archway. There are a number of secluded coves and beaches close by, including Prussia Cove, Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands Beach. Nearby, Porthleven is a popular destination thanks to its historic harbour and its selection of quality restaurants and cafés. There’s also a vast network of picturesque walking trails in the area, and easy access to the coastal pathways.
Head south to Marazion, the gateway to the enchanting St Michael’s Mount . The small tidal island can be reached on foot by a causeway at low tide, or by ferry at high tide. Continue a short distance to Penzance, with its harbour and marina overlooking the sweeping Mounts Bay. Stroll along the promenade to Newlyn, with its famous art gallery and fishing fleet, and continue around the coast to the pretty sheltered harbour of Mousehole, with its winding alleyways lined with art and craft shops. The famous Mousehole Christmas Lights attract vast numbers of visitors from around the UK during the winter season. Cornwall’s north coast, with its popular tourist destination St Ives, is also a short drive from the property.
The area is popular with walkers, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike, with marshes at Marazion and Hayle Estuary. There’s also a seal sanctuary at Gweek, and families with young children might want to explore Flambards Theme Park at Helston. For a touch of culture in Cornwall, the Minack Theatre promises a spectacle you won’t soon forget. Water sports nearby include surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing and canoeing. Beach 2 miles. Shop and pub 200 yards, restaurant 2 miles.

Despite horrible weather we enjoyed our stay. A lovely cottage apart from the steep staircase but that's down to old age. A safe garden for our dog and a handy walk up the lane to a dog friendly recreation ground. Would definitely recommend it.

Our second visit to Willow Cottage this year which is probably the best endorsement I can give. Everything about the cottage is wonderful, it retains plenty of period charm mixed with modern touches and a beautifully equipped kitchen. Arrival is greeted with some lovely welcome amenities including scones, clotted cream and some very welcome bottles in the fridge :) The cottage has a natural air of calm and serenity, it's spotlessly clean and attention to detail is immaculate including fresh cut flowers and logs for the wood burner (if needed). Fortunately we had a beautiful week of sunshine so the logs remained untouched. The cottage is pet friendly and there is a large secure field nearby for exercise. The local pub (30 steps away) is a welcome attraction with lovely food too. No noise whatsoever from the pub despite being close so no worries there at all. We will be back again next year and thank you to Katrina and Paul for being the perfect hosts both prior to arrival and also during the stay. Perfect cottage in the most beautiful part of the world

We have stayed in many cottages over the years with our various dogs and Willow cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. The cottage was beautiful in every way and we could not fault it the only down side was that we had to come home we would definitely consider a return visit and highly recommend.

Willow cottage was lovely, beautifully furnished and homely. Garden was not totally secure as our Jack Russell escaped through a gap at the bottom of the garden but we just avoided letting her out off the lead

If you are thinking about booking Willow Cottage then don't wait, just book it! The cottage is simply beautiful. Location is the perfect balance between solitude and convenience to the most that Cornwall has to offer. Perfectly situated between Penzance and Porthleven, with St Ives just a short journey away. Very pet friendly too! Our Cocker Spaniel loved the short trips to the beach and also an enclosed rear garden meant we could let him out without worrying, also a local recreation field which is a 2 minute walk from the cottage for runs off his lead. The cottage was spotless, comfortable and peaceful. Also thanks to Katrina and Paul for the extra goodies on arrival which was a lovely surprise. We are now booking for a return visit later in the year, which is testament to how lovely Willow Cottage is! Thank you x
