The Stable - Facilities

This detached converted barn is nestled in a quiet and peaceful lane, deep in the Cornish countryside. It is close to Padstow and some of the county’s best beaches. The Stable on St Jidgey Farm is quaintly decorated and provides spacious accommodation for up to six guests. The area is quiet and relaxing yet close to Newquay, Padstow, Port Isaac and a good base to explore Cornwall.
The beaches of Watergate Bay and great surf is close by, as are the quaint coves of Porthcothan and the amazing stretches of golden sand at Constantine Bay and Harlyn Bay. Wadebridge, an inland riverside town, is a must with great local shops and pubs, great restaurants and cafés which line the streets of this ancient town. Its bridge spans the River Camel that flows from Padstow at its mouth to Bodmin and has its own cycle, walking and horse riding trails that hug its shore for over 30 miles. Bike hire and kayak hire is available.
Padstow is home to TV chef, Rick Stein and his foodie empire is easily reached. Fish and chips on the harbour side or a pint in a fisherman’s pub is a favourite of locals and visitors alike. Newquay with its abundant surf culture is a great day out with seven beaches for seven days, but if it’s a quieter day at the beach you want, then Harlyn Bay has beautiful sand and some great surf schools and hire shops.
The Camel Creek Adventure Park is very close to The Stable. This is a family friendly experience with rides and farm animals making a great day out.
There are many golf clubs on the north coast of Cornwall from St Enedoc Golf Club to The Point at Polzeath and Merlin Golf Club which is at Mawgan Porth. So bring your clubs for some golf with a view. All in all, this is a lovely barn conversion in a great spot, all set in an outstanding county. Beach 6 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.

The Stable - Reviews

    Our stay December, 2019

We stayed for Christmas 2019 - family of 4. The house is a perfect mix of old cottage and modern comforts. Lovely and roomy, with plenty of space to relax together or find your own space. The owner is wonderful and made a huge effort to make the house perfect for Christmas even though we booked at short notice. Anyone staying in here over a hot summer will have a wonderful stay. As it’s close to the beaches and the saints way walk. Hope to return one day!

Beautiful home in a beautiful area. Would of liked a pub in walking distance but hey you can't have everything. The owners were lovely and friendly. There was everything you need in the home. Will definitely come back. Thanks

    Our stay July, 2019

We had a lovely time . It was a shame the pub near the cottage is now shut but there are plenty of alternatives around and the cottage is in a good accessible position with the added benefit of being lovely and quiet. Hosts were brilliant and very helpful and friendly.
