The Boat Watch - Facilities

This holiday apartment, above the owner’s restaurant, is perfect for couples looking to cosy up in the winter, walk the stunning coastal paths in spring, or laze on the beach in summer with your very own restaurant and chef on the doorstep. Sitting in the shelter of Mounts Bay, some 2½ miles from Penzance, lies the historic fishing village of Mousehole, once described by Dylan Thomas as the loveliest in England. Pronounced ’Mowzel’, the village was recorded as early as 1266, and you get a real sense of timelessness as you wander the narrow streets, while the picturesque harbour offers a sandy beach at low tide. The Boat Watch is perfect for families and also appeals to couples looking for that great get-away-from-it-all retreat, all year round. Stroll along picturesque coastal paths, laze on the glorious beaches in the summer, pick the fresh wild flowers or visit the many beautiful gardens in the area. The property offers quality accommodation, cosy and great for storm watching in the winter months. The owners run a prestigious bistro, located under the apartment and provide guests with the opportunity to experience the convenience of excellent food during their stay. There is an option to run your own tab and even have meals delivered and served in the apartment. From a full three course meal to drinks and desserts, nothing is too much trouble. The bistro has a vibrant continental feel, located on Mousehole harbour front with stunning views across Mounts Bay. There is an al fresco feel to the secluded and sheltered rear garden, ideal for a quiet drink or leisurely lunch. The area is perfect for exploring the many delights of West Cornwall and the area is renowned for its artists and crafts. Within easy reach of Newlyn, Penzance, Lands End, the famous surfing beach at Sennen, and the picturesque town of St Ives. Visit the Tate Modern or the open air romantic Minack Theatre. The Boat Watch has its own front door and private staircase which leads to the first floor apartment. The enclosed hallway and fully double glazed windows and additional sound proofing ensure the apartment is conveniently located but quiet. The Boat Watch accommodates four guests in two comfortable double bedrooms, beautifully appointed bathroom, light and comfortable open plan living room with woodburner and kitchen area with views of the harbour. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Beautifully presented property with the best restaurant in Mousehole just downstairs. What could be better?!

What a lovely flat! We had a very cosy time in the heart of Mousehole, and we were pleased to be provided with a fully equipped kitchen and logs for the burner. The only thing worth considering, especially if you're a family, is that the restaurant and kitchens downstairs operate until late, which makes the flat very noisy through the floorboards. The most affected room is the second bedroom, which is a pane of glass away from kitchen porters who must do their recycling and cleaning until midnight. All in all, the flat is a fresh, light and airy space that looks over the harbour. It couldn't be more central, and has a telly, dvd player, and even complimentary wine and milk! I can't fault the location or flat: but beware the evening/night time noise.

A lovely clean and comfortable flat above an amazing restaurant with lovely staff. Downside was the clock tower next door and very central location meant it was noisy in the evenings. Fine for adults but I would not recommend for babies/ small children as they were constantly woken. Also could do with better hot water and shower. All in all a lovely trip but could have done with some more sleep!

A really fabulous apartment with everything on the doorstep. Convenient for St Ives, Newlyn and Penzance...if you're arty, it's the best location! View of the harbour from kitchen and lounge make it special. Beds are comfy, lounge and kitchen are just right for our group of 3. Loved the decor. Would definitely come again.

A wonderful apartment within a stunning location, with the staff just a moment away downstairs to help, booking in the restaurant below is a must the food is sensational. It can get a little noisy in the evening from the restaurant below until around 10pm but this is to be expected staying above a popular restaurant. If your looking for quiet this isn't the right place but if you don't mind a vibrant atmosphere and happy to watch the world go by on the harbour with amazing sunsets this is for you.

Absolutely beautiful place and location, we have stayed many times and intend to do so again soon. Only tiny Criticism would be maybe change the mattress in the front bedroom as it’s a little uncomfortable
