Stoneyend - Facilities

This wonderful, detached property is conveniently placed to explore the picturesque fishing village of St Ives and the rugged north coast of Cornwall. This is known as the gateway to West Cornwall and is just 8½ miles from Marazion, St Michaels Mount and the south coast. Stoney End lies in a peaceful location at the end of a private lane and presents an opportunity for families to relax and unwind in a private enclosed garden, and has the benefit of a detached games room, complete with a full-size table tennis table. The property is perfect for family gatherings or friends looking for a relaxing location with plenty of space to spread out. Guests can relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside and the owners’ land to the rear of the property makes a great dog-walking area.
The location is within easy reach of the main A30, and numerous popular destinations are all within a 30-minute drive. It is just a short drive to Carbis Bay with its beautiful sandy beach and popular beach café, as well as St Ives with its array of cafés and restaurants dotted along the seafront and pretty harbour. The bay stretches up through the sand dunes at Hayle and the wide estuary, which is popular for bird watchers, and beyond to Godrevy and Gwithia, with Godrevy Lighthouse perched on its rocky outcrop. Continuing up the coast road, you will arrive at Portreath and Porthtowan, which are both popular surfing beaches. The special light in this area has attracted artists over the generations and the town has a wealth of art galleries, including the Tate Modern and the Barbara Hepworth sculpture museum. The scenic coastal train runs from nearby station at St Erth past numerous stunning beaches, to St Ives. The famous coastal road from St Ives to Pendeen, runs over heather-clad moorland, passing mining heritage and the picturesque village of Zennor with legends of mermaids and pirates. Beach 1½ miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

    Our stay September, 2019

Clean tidy large rooms all good Great games room. Some details n leaflets were out of date ie. The info re rubbish collection and some take away leaflets. The private road upto cottage needs attention as it was very badly potholed which caused problems every day when we went out. Only 2 slice toaster as 2 did not work.

What a fantastic property in a fantastic location for both relaxing and touring. We were a family group of 8 adults and and 1 dog, all of the group were complimentary about Stoneyend with not one single complaint. I have rated local amenities a ten also because everything we needed was just a short drive away, (note, not a short walk). There are some fantastic walks right outside of the front door and the attached land is perfect for the shorter dog wanders with the immediate garden also making a perfect free space for a well behaved dog and for children. The local Una resort was a perfect venue for a special birthday event and is walking distance from Stoneyend if a local cafe/bar or restaurant is required, highly recommended. Stoneyend has all the facilities that you would expect such a premium property to have, however, the cinema/games room proved a perfect addition for the group, especially the younger ones for table tennis, Pool and darts. This would be a perfect bolt-hole for those days with less welcoming weather. We will definitely be planning another trip to Stoneyend and can highly recommend it for a group or family get-away. I would just like to thank the owners for allowing us to stay in such a special property in such a spectacular location. Ten-out-of-ten, first class stay :)

Stoneyend is an amazing house in a stunning location. It was a big hit with our family, inparticular the games room was a favourite with the kids. Just 3 miles from St Ives it is a great location for enjoying the beach and as a base for exploring Southern Cornwall. It is so spacious with all the amenities you could need. Lots of little details like the board games and DVDs made it a really lovely stay.
