Manderley - Facilities

Manderley is a detached bungalow situated in the historic stannary and market town of Liskeard. From the house and garden there are stunning views across the rolling countryside in this delightful part of Cornwall. The bungalow is ideally placed for exploring the moors and cliff top walks across the coasts of both Cornwall and Devon.

South east Cornwall has some of the best and most varied countryside in the whole of the south west of England, from the mists of Bodmin Moor, the creeks and valleys of the rivers to the secluded coves, sandy beaches and rocky outcrops of the coastline in the south. A 15-minute drive will take you to the spectacular south Cornwall coastline and the picturesque village of Looe. Just along the coast from Looe, nestles the tiny fishing village of Polperro with its harbour and narrow streets.

There is a network of footpaths which pass through some of the most scenic countryside in the area- the Caradon Trail is particularly lovely, retracing the rich heritage of the area and taking you along traditional Cornish lanes with wonderful views and an abundance of wildlife. The city of Plymouth is just 19 miles away and is home to the award-winning National Marine Aquarium. Our mild winters ensure that many plants are able to thrive in Cornwall. The world-famous Eden project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are certainly worth a visit during your stay. There are many historic houses to visit close by including Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Antony.

Liskeard sports a leisure centre with swimming pool, squash, indoor bowling, badminton and fitness suite. From here you can take the lovely branch line which runs down to Looe through the wooded East Looe Valley. Nearby Siblyback Lake offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and fishing. Mount Edgcumbe Park with its 800 acres of parkland located on the Tamar estuary is also well worth a visit. Padstow, Truro, Falmouth, St Ives and Port Isacc and are just some of many wonderful places to explore all around you. You’ll find beautiful beaches on both the south and north coasts, fishing villages, coastal walks, cycling, fishing, golf, and a plethora of National Trust properties and their grounds are all in easy reach of this delightful property. It really is a perfect location to explore this stunning county, there is just so much to see and do, and after a day of taking in the delights of Cornwall you can sit back and relax in the wonderful garden at Manderley.
