Delius Mabe Burnthouse

Delius Cottage is situated in the hamlet of Mabe within walking distance of the local shop and pub, and has easy access to a large supermarket. It is an ideal base for exploring and there are plenty of beaches within 5 miles which makes this location great for guests of all ages. If you want to surf, Porthleven is a very popular location just 20 minutes away by car. This is a beautiful harbour where children go crabbing, older ones swim and further out are the surfers. There is plenty of choice in the restaurants to cater for all tastes too. Enjoy beautiful walks here along the cliffs and you will often see fishermen on Loe Bar beach; this is not a beach for swimming as the currents are very strong!
Next to Porthleven is the market town of Helston, known for its Furry Dance. You can meander along the cobbled streets with the ‘kennels’ running alongside carrying water from the streams to the lake at Cornonation Park. Visit the museum or go to the famous Flambards theme park, which caters for all ages and is a great day out. If you want to enjoy peace and quiet, pay a visit to one of the beautiful gardens at Glendurgan, Heligan or Trebah. The city of Truro is 20 minutes away and has a beautiful cathedral, cobbled streets and a multitude of shops as well as cafés, bars and restaurants. If you want a unique experience, why not head towards St Austell and see the famous biomes? it is an hour’s drive but well worth a visit. Climb to the top of the waterfall in the tropical biome looking at the displays on the way up - there is so much to see here it is very educational and interesting. After a hard day out sit, return to the cottage and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Beach 5 miles.
