Cowslip - Facilities

Trewellard Manor Farm is ideally located just off the stunning scenic coast road from St Ives to Land’s End, on the edge of Trewellard village. The owner lives on-site and Barncott and Cowslip both stand detached. The former has exposed stone walls in the living room, and the latter has a double bedroom with a sea view and which houses a large feature grain lift, testimony to its past farming heritage.
This north western tip of Cornwall is generally accepted as the most unspoilt area of the county, with its magnificent relics of ancient tin mines and its Celtic heritage. The area is used extensively in the current popular TV series, Poldark, and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trewellard village provides a choice of restaurants and three pubs all within walking distance, along with local stores and a pottery and craft shop. St Just, a short drive or bus ride away, has its own selection of shops, restaurants and pubs.
Evidence of its past mining history can be seen dotted around including the famous Crown Mines, engine houses perched on the cliff face which are visible on the popular coastal walk. The Geevor Tin Mine and Heritage Centre is just a few hundred yards away as is the Levant steam engine, which can be seen working on certain days. Cape Cornwall Club is 3 miles away and open to all. This is a stunning and challenging golf course overlooking the Brisons Rocks.
This area offers dramatic scenery, beautiful coves, beaches and miles of heather-clad moorlands. The drive from Pendeen to St Ives has been voted one of the best scenic routes, and passes the village of Zenor with its ancient church, pub and tales of mermaids. The area has a welcoming feel all year round, providing a convenient location for exploring West Cornwall whatever the season. Enjoy cliff walks to nearby Pendeen Lighthouse, or a scenic drive to St Ives with a harbour, art galleries including The Tate Modern and Barbara Hepworth Museum, and an abundance of restaurants, cafés and glorious beaches. Do not miss a trip to the open air Minack Theatre, perched on the cliff face with the ocean as a backdrop and overlooking the glorious Porthcurno beach. Visit Mousehole and Newlyn, fishing harbours and quaint villages, famous for their Christmas lights, or take a trip to Sennen Beach, the wide white sand beach popular with surfers and beach lovers. St Michael’s Mount is perched on its rocky outcrop overlooking the wonderful wide Mount’s Bay and historic town of Marazion. Beach 2¼ miles. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 2 miles.
