Chy An Ky Bras - Facilities

Situated directly on the South West Cornish Coastal Path, just yards from the steps leading directly on to Porthallow beach, this traditionally-built, white-painted stone and cob former fisherman’s cottage has an enviable location. With low beams, wood panel walls, character and many original features, it sits at the end of a row of three, right above the quiet beach Porthallow. The cottage provides a comfortable base for guests with the added touch of French doors in the double bedroom opening onto a balcony with sea views. It’s in an ideal spot for exploring the beautiful Lizard Peninsula or for enjoying walking and scuba diving. It is also a wildlife and bird watcher’s paradise. Art lovers and garden enthusiasts will enjoy the numerous art galleries including the Tate St Ives and the sub tropical gardens including Trebah, Treliske and Durgan. The perfect base for visiting the many different areas of west and south Cornwall, from the rugged surf coastline of the north coast to the tranquil sailing waters of the south coast. Or simply relax on the property’s roof terrace with its glass balcony overlooking the sea and beach below. The area is perfect for beach lovers as the Lizard Peninsula boasts numerous sandy coves, quaint picturesque harbours and fishing villages to explore. The historic towns on Helston, famous for its Flora Day, and Marazion with St Michael’s Mount are set on its small island. The busy maritime port and harbour at Falmouth with The National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle is worth a visit. This sleepy, quiet spot gives guests easy access to so many attractions. Shop 1½ miles and pub 300 yards.

Chy An Ky Bras - Reviews

Beautiful cottage with authentic fixtures and log fire 🔥😁 well equipped kitchen with everything you could ever need. Very clean and well thought out, we loved the outside balcony area, this was especially loved by our Golden Retriever who liked to lay on the shelf and people watch the beach! As the cottage Is circa 450 years old it does seem a little “spooky” at times, but that just added to the quirkiness of the place!

A really great cottage; beautifully old and quirky but so well equipped and comfortable.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very well equipped. The dog and children loved it. Being able to step down to the dog-friendly beach (shingle but that's ok!) was great. We all had a comfortable stay. We enjoyed lunch at the Fat Apples, evening meals at the Three Tuns and touring the coast. I would recommend. The best thing about it was the views from the balcony. Really beautiful.

Lovely cottage in a nice fishing hamlet. We booked as it was a short stroll to the highly-rated Five Pilchards pub, but this was closed awaiting new owners. A makeshift pub in the village hall just wasn't the same. The nearest shops and other pubs are a 10 minute drive. Great cottage in a nice location for exploring the Lizard.

This was an exceptional cottage - brilliant location and a great price out of season and it was very warm. The photos don't do the cottage justice though. Probably should mention the low beams, especially in the bathroom.
