Camellia Cottage - Facilities

Camellia Cottage, once part of a country hotel, is an ideal holiday home for families or couples seeking somewhere to relax and get away from it all, yet be in an ideal location to explore an area referred to as the Cornish Riviera. This semi-detached property, in the grounds of the owners’ home, has a large roof terrace that is accessed from the living area, and provides the perfect spot to relax whilst overlooking the green fields that surround the cottage. Making up part of a former country hotel, set in a large garden, Bluebell is a single-storey terrace holiday home which makes the perfect bolt-hole for two, boasting an open plan living space and cosy bedroom.

If you can draw yourself away from this idyllic spot, then the area is rich and diverse in tourist attractions, both natural and man-made. The area has some beautiful sandy beaches in pretty coves, which are backed by pretty cliffs, providing the perfect family day out. The village of St Ewe with its own local pub is close by and for more choice, the fishing village of Mevagissey with its working harbour, narrow streets, fisherman’s pubs and cafés is a short drive.
With cliff walking, kayaking along the River Fowey, sailing and sea fishing from one of the many fishing villages close by, Camellia Cottage really is in the ideal location to enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer.
Caerhays Castle, and Porthluney Beach, are two beautiful little beaches that provide the perfect place for a moonlit stroll, or somewhere to practise building sandcastles with your little ones. A similar distance away will bring you to the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan, the quaint fishing port of Mevagissey and the Georgian Port of Charlestown . Further afield is the Eden Project, the capital city of Truro, St Mawes and the surfing beaches of Newquay.
The South Cornwall coast is home to many National Trust houses and gardens, which provide superb days out for all. Golf, horse riding, cycle hire and off road trails for walking and riding are all available close by. Beach 4 miles. Shop 1¾ miles, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Camellia Cottage - Reviews

  • Mandy - Cheshire 23rd September 2019

    Our stay September, 2019

This cottage was exceptional, every small detail was thought about. The owners were very nice and extremely helpful. The beach is only a couple if miles away. The welcome pack was second to none. We have stayed in many cottages, but this is by far the best we have stayed in. I would recommend this cottage without exception. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful cottage with friendly owners in a lovely location. The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely stay - including amenities for the dog. The 'welcome pack' of food & drink was much more than we expected and was very welcome. WiFi was good - although be warned... there is no phone signal here. All in all - highly recommended!

    Our stay August, 2019

Camellia Cottage is a well appointed modern holiday cottage which provided us with a good family holiday despite the changeable weather. It was warm, comfortable and relaxing. Would have liked to have eaten on the balcony more often but can't have everything. Close to beaches and good cliff-top walks so all were happy including the dog. Owners, who live on-site, were friendly and very helpful. Would recommend Camellia Cottage to other families with teenage children.

    Our stay August, 2019

A fantastic property beautifully renovated and updated, easy parking and in a very peaceful location. The welcome basket is amazing! The owners are on site and exceptionally friendly and helpful but offer total privacy. I would highly recommend staying here.

No hesitation in recommending this accommodation. Also the owners are extremely welcoming. Wi-fi is good and TV as well but with excellent places to visit close by you'll probably be out exploring. Extremely well located with excellent garden and pleasant country views. Easy parking.

Fantastic welcome, very relaxing. The photos on the cottage web site do not do the sun deck and view justice. A great cottage.
