These two properties are set within beautiful, extensive shared grounds of 1½ acres, which include a sunny round patio with comfortable sun loungers, large lawned areas on two levels, and woodland leading directly on to the South West Coastal Path which has views over the shimmering sea. Rivendell is a spacious and comfortable first floor apartment set within a large, traditional, detached property with its own lawned area and patio to the front. The private entrance hallway includes a useful utility area and a wide sweeping staircase leads to an impressive spacious, galleried landing. Beach Retreat is a charming, detached, timber lodge with breathtaking views and a wrap-around enclosed private patio. Single storey, it features a large timber beam running through its middle on a round shape, and will appeal to couples looking for a romantic escape whatever the season. It is tucked away in a semi-secluded spot within the woodland grounds.
There is direct access on to the South West Coastal Path, and guests can walk to Carbis Bay in one direction, or into St Ives town and harbour the other. It provides the ideal location for families, friends or couples looking for a peaceful haven with the convenience of pleasant walking distance of St Ives.
The area is renowned for its natural beauty, and the spectacular natural lighting effects have been a magnet for artists over the years. The location is equally perfect for guests wishing to stay and relax close to the accommodation, or for those exploring further afield. There is easy access to the West Cornwall Peninsula with Penzance, Marazion, St Michaels Mount, Lands End and Sennen all just a short drive away, or head north up the rugged, surfing coastline to the wide sand dunes at Hayle, Gwithian, Godrevey Lighthouse, Portreath and Porthtowan.
The area is popular with walkers, beach lovers, and bird-watchers, or you can gently explore by taking the scenic coastal train from St Erth, stopping at Carbis Bay in to St Ives with its quality restaurants, cafés and art galleries, including the Tate Modern and the Barbara Hepworth Museum. Beach ¼ mile . Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 8 guests.

Firstly Brian was very friendly and welcoming, also he was around daily so was always near when needed. Beach Retreat is cosy in size but perfect for couples looking for privacy and a romantic setting. The property has been well thought out with everything you need for your stay. We took our dog and he enjoyed the outside space and the squirrels. It's in a perfect location being only a mile walk to St Ives or Carbis Bay. Access to the coast is right at the bottom of the garden where you get a beautiful view of Carbis Bay. There's a fantastic pub and a Tesco in walking distance as well.

Fantastic place to stay, within walking distance or St Ives and Carbis Bay so no stress of finding parking space. St Ives has some lovely shops, restaurants and beach. Carbis Bay hotel has a unique restaurant serving lovely food, with a view across the bay. Beach Retreat is a lovely, quiet place with a stunning vista across the bay. The cabin itself was clean and cosy, with plenty of utilities, including a full size oven, to cook a main meal which was great to have after lovely days enjoying The local area. Brian, the host was very helpful and friendly. He made me and my dogs very welcome, leaving a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy on arrival. I would highly recommend Beach Retreat and I will definitely stay again.

Ideally situated above Carbis Bay, the cottage has everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. Easy access to the SW Coast path, and St Ives.

Beach Retreat was the ideal location for our holiday. It was within easy walking distance from St Ives which was fantastic as it meant no car parking which I know can be a nightmare in St Ives. It is also a short walk to Tescos for obtaining supplies. The views from the garden area are superb. The actual cottage was well equipped, having everything you could wish for and more.

Lovely retreat, contains everything you would need. Wonderful sea views from the garden and only a 15 minute walk to both St. Ives and Carbis Bay. The owner is very friendly and helpful; I would highly recommend it.

If your family will fit then the beach retreat is a magical place to spend a week in and around St Ives. It's small but uniquely placed with Porthminster and Carbis Bay beaches 10 mins walk in either direction along lovely, safe quiet lane/path based routes. The supremely easy access/parking is a bonus too ... Beds are comfy, bathroom ideally sized The garden space is amazing with an expansive view across the Hayle estuary and wider bay. There's even views down to the breaking waves on Carbis bay itself from the veranda. It is otherwise sufficiently plentiful for hours of safe exploring for our growing son which is useful in the mornings for sure. Compared to all the other places we've stayed/experienced in the last decade of annual trips to St Ives, I can safely say, there's no other place like it. Needless to say, we're already booked in for 2020

We stayed for a week at Beach Retreat...myself ,husband and dog....we had read that the place was small, but didn’t realise how small, the kitchen especially you definitely could not cook a meal. The owner had thought of everything to be fair but we didn’t feel that it was worth the money it had cost us.My husband spent most of the week trying to work the boiler for the heating, which we had to use as it was quite cold first thing in the morning and the evening too...could not get wi fi at all even though it was advertised....we had to use the single room for our cases and extra bags ...there is nowhere really to store them...the sea view advertised we could just make out through the trees...we had been given plenty of towels etc for the week ....the biggest plus for us was that it was quite and it was safe for our dog to wander outside..not what we would stay at again....
