Azalea Cottage - Facilities

Sancreed House is the home to three one-bedroom stone cottages which can be booked
together or individually . Tastefully decorated they
offer a wonderful relaxing environment with the benefit of all modern conveniences. There is
ample parking on the driveway in front of the main house. Access to the cottages, which are in the grounds of Sancreed House, is through a white picket fence, with the cottages just a short distance away from the communal parking. The grounds are enclosed and suitable for dogs.
Great for walkers and dog owners, Sancreed is a beautiful hamlet ideally located to explore the countryside, coastal walks and beaches of West Penwith, as well as being close to Penzance the nearest townwhich is 4½ miles away. Cornwall welcomes dogs with miles and miles of sandy beaches, scenic coves, hundreds of footpaths, and plenty of choice for everyone. If you are looking for dog friendly beaches all year round Gwynver is the closest 5 miles away, or why not take advantage of the coastal paths around the whole of West Penwith where you may be lucky enough to see grey seals or dolphins. Sancreed House’s owners are happy to give recommendations on walks and local restaurants. .
Sancreed Beacon is a nature reserve which boasts beautiful scenery, great views and an abundance of wildlife. It is a Bronze Age archaeological site and other local historical sights are at Boswens Menhir, Crown Mines, Caer Bran and Bosvenning Common Nature Reserve. Sancreed House cottages are a perfect base to explore Newlyn, Mousehall, Lamorna, Porthcurno, Cape Cornwall, St Just, Sennen, Lands End, Zennor and even St Ives is only a short drive away.
Near Penzance is the ancient market town of Marazion, and if you go at low tide you can walk across the causeway, follow in the footsteps of the Giant who used to inhabit St Michaels Mount. Walk around the beautiful gardens and visit the restaurant .
Sancreed House is adjacent to a church, so on a Sunday at 9. 30 you will hear the church bells. The cottages are set back within a large lawned area for which the church and ancient church wall provide an idyllic backdrop. The property is also home to the famous Sancreed rooks, so at dawn and dusk you will be able to watch them as they begin their day and then fly home to fight for a nesting spot at dusk, they are briefly noisy at these times, be warned.
