Atlantic House - Reviews

  • Simon - Stafford 10th February 2020

    Our stay February, 2020

Visited February 2029 me, wife and dog. Lovely comfortable and clean cottage. Comfy bed, parking and only 200 yards from the centre of the village. Only downside was poor WiFi downstairs. Was ok upstairs so broadband must be ok. Owner lives nextdoor and WiFi router is in their house. Just needs an extended.

A super winter break in glorious weather.

We had a great time with our two dogs, very comfortable and warm. The pub on Christmas Eve was standing room only but everyone was friendly. The owner of Atlantic House came round to welcome us and chat about the village and what other event were going on over the period. The weather was stunning Christmas Day, Boxing Day not so.

Comfortable cottage in an excellent location and parking as well. I would highly recommend, a home from home.

Lovely dog friendly cottage. Good position in the heart of Port Isaac with parking! Roomy accommodation that is very clean and tidy.

    Our stay July, 2019

The house is in a lovely position in Port Isaac, at the top of the main road through the village (with parking too, which is like gold dust). Easy to get to as the roads in and out are both one-way - no dodgy two-way single track driving. The only problem is that it is overlooked by the busy street between the car park and the village, so if you have ‘protective’ dogs then they will be forever barking at passers-by. Aside from that, the garden is lovely and well kept, and the house is comfortable and more than big enough for 4 people. We slept in the main double room and it got quite warm at night, I suspect because of the immersion heater in it. Probably cosy in the winter, but we had lovely weather so it was quite uncomfortable. Dennis the owner and his wife live in the adjoining property and occasionally popped by to water the plants and ask how we were doing (with plenty of local tips). The village itself is very picturesque, with several places to eat. The chippy was ok, but we preferred the takeaway food from the Old School hotel/restaurant opposite. There’s a Co Op about 5 minutes walk away which stocks most stuff you’ll need and a pasty shop down the road. They were filming Doc Martin when we were there (think it’s usually 3 days per week), so some roads were temporarily blocked off and the pub was shut on one day. Fun initially but slightly annoying after a while. Wifi is ok, just about adequate for a bit of light streaming although occasionally dipped to unusable speeds. Would we go back? Yes definitely, but without the dogs :)

This is a lovely cottage with a perfect location in the village and 3 minute walk to harbour. Big advantage of having car park space. Enclosed garden which was perfect for our 2 dogs. This was our third visit to Atlantic House and we would highly recommend it.

This was my second visit to Atlantic House. Well equipped comfy, and dog friendly in my favourite Cornish village. The parking space is an added bonus. I suspect I'll be back!
