Wheal Rose - Facilities

Wheal Rose is set within 2½ acres of grounds and sits with two other properties; you’ll enjoy the unspoilt countryside views in every direction and also be just a short drive away from the beautiful Porthtowan beach within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - this Blue Flag award-winning beach is one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing beaches with soft golden sands, backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs. You can also easily access the South West Coastal Path from here too. The picturesque village of St Agnes is close by with its interesting shops, bars and restaurants.
Situated just 18 minutes from Cornwall’s capital Truro, the only city in the county, there is everything you would expect from a modern city, including great shopping, lots of entertainment, as well as a blossoming food and drink scene. With a four-screen cinema, art galleries, the impressive Royal Cornwall Museum, The Hall for Cornwall that hosts wonderful theatre productions and shows, and the iconic and remarkable cathedral that stands proudly in the centre of the city. You will never be short of activities, places and buildings to explore, for adults and children alike.
Should you wish to venture slightly further afield, you are in the perfect central location to explore by car. Falmouth, with its prestigious marinas, harbours and stunning array of restaurants, cafés, and shops, makes for a great day out. The National Maritime Museum, Events Square and Pendennis Castle are open to the public daily, with activities throughout the year. The area has many beautiful sub-tropical gardens, including Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick. Padstow, St Ives, Looe, Port Isaac, Polperro, St Ives, Fowey, The Roseland Peninsula and Lands’ End are all within easy reach by car, as well as the world-famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Beautiful beaches on both the south and north coasts, fishing villages, coastal walks, cycling, fishing, golf, and a plethora of National Trust properties and grounds are all on the doorstep of this delightful property. At the end of the day you can unwind on your private patio overlooking unspoilt Cornish countryside.
