Treginegar Farmhouse - Reviews

  • John - Bristol 12th January 2020

    Our stay January, 2020

Great house, very large rooms with everything you need. We had a lovely holiday for a friends 40th with kids, dog and adults. Nice and warm with log burner if required. The kitchen is industrial but great for a big house. The house is down a private lane. When we stayed none of the other holiday homes or caravans were in use so felt very private. No shops around so you need a car. It’s a shame there’s no recycling. We bought all ours home!!

I would definitely recommend Treginegar Farmhouse. It’s easy to locate and very well spaced out. We booked as a surprise for my dads 60th and it was lovely. The bar went down a treat. The beds are accommodating and are comfy. We will definitely will be returning. P.S our dogs loved having their first holiday!

Wonderful stay from start to finish. Suited our whole family who were aged 9-92years!! Pictures do not do this farmhouse justice. It is outstandingly spacious and the extras provided really did make our holiday extra special, like the dartboard, bar, and football table! Also the doggy towels and spare bowls! The kitchen was really well equipped too. And essentials provided like a few dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. We have never felt like we would go back to the same place until now, we like going to different places! But this place we want to desperately return to!! It is the house of my dreams. Highly recommended!

The cottage itself is truly lovely, it is exceptionally well equipped (it could just do with a few more tea-towels & hand-towels). Parking for at least 5 cars, maybe more. Very clean. Large gardens, etc. I can highly recommend the cottage!! It is a really short drive from Padstow, Perranporth Bay and Meaghan Porth Beach; all of which I would highly recommend you have a visit to! We had a supermarket deliver food to the house: there’s a supermarket at Padstow so not too far! There’s a mobile Wood-burning pizza van at the campsite on Thursdays that you really should try & a small shop on the adjacent campsite.

We had an outstanding 21 night stay. The point of contact for the house, Charis, was very efficient when dealing with a couple of minor issues. The property manager, who attended due to a locked bedroom door issue, was also very professional. The only negative point we would raise is the lack of recycling facilities is disappointing in comparison to what we have at home. We took all our recycling in to Padstow to the recycling centre in the car park.

Lovely cottage, secure rear garden. Would have referred the garden furniture and bbq in the rear garden rather than the side of the house but we brought our own bbq and moved one of the outdoor dining tables to the rear. Location of the farmhouse was very handy for exploring Cornwall.

Fantastic holiday with great friends, now onto the house, as a group of 10 the house was spacious enough for everyone. As previous reviews state we did share the house with lots of woodlice but the house is old. It was clean but tired in areas, the little things go a long way for instance the dart board unusable due to broken darts and only being hung on the wall with one screw rather than the 2 making it usable. There was a draw which when opened the draw front pulled off. The property just needs to focus on attention to detail. The bar area was a big hit for our group but needed a thorough clean on the bar top. The rug needs freshening up and the one disappointing thing was Inside that half of the house it was block paved with a rug over, not ideal with a baby. The kitchen is an industrial style with no cupboards just a working style kitchen but had all the facilities needed so can't be faulted. The bedrooms were clean along with all the bedding, however a screw to fix the toilet role holder would improve it and a bit of grout in the en suite to the twin room. The house is a perfect location to get to plenty of places, 10 minutes drive to Tesco and 6-7 minutes to local shops and pubs. The house is located down a long driveway to a caravan site but we had total peace and quiet with no disturbances. I will say though the sofa wasn't the most comfortable.

Good location but need transport. Pub was not within walking distance (but lovely/ welcoming) and dog walks needed to be accessed by car as county road walking was without pavement or good view of oncoming traffic. Only one tv in the building which was a surprise but not a major issue. Bar area and games filled the tv void. House provided plenty of space for all (8 adults, 3 dogs and a 9 month old baby) but garden was not dog escape proof; not a problem if your dog does not like to explore further afield. Well equipped kitchen but limited work space. Cleanliness was as expected for dog friendly accommodation. Outlook over surrounding caravan park was not expected. Would we come again? Most probably!

An idyllic place for a family/friends get holiday. Brilliant base to tour around the gems of Cornwall. Farmhouse has every conceivable thing you could need to have a fantastic break away. We were also blessed with scorching good weather. Who needs to go abroad!

It’s a lovely cottage within easy reach of Padstow. There are some lovely coves within a few minutes drive and Bedruthan Steps were easily accessible.

Absolutely superb farmhouse, there was everything we required for a large group and our dogs. Close to a shop on a holiday park and easy driving into Padstow and surrounding area. If you look then defiantly book this for your holiday as we will be returning.

  • Jenny - Cardiff 4th March 2020

    Our stay March, 2020

Beautiful Cottage and facilities were excellent. As dog owners though we were dissapointed that we couldn't walk them anywhere around by the cottage, we would have liked mor advice in the guide about where to go, just not where not to go. That would be my only negative though, everything else was excellent and we plan to return yearly if we can as a family.

Absolutely perfect holiday, this is our second time at Treginegar Farmhouse and will be booking again. There was 7 adults and 3 small dogs. We were close to Padstow, Wadebridge, it really is the most wonderful place to stay
