The Beach House - Facilities

Modern, detached, light and a very comfortable property, the perfect choice for families, couples or friends looking for a relaxing summer beach house holiday or all year round get away. The beautiful sandy beach is a 5-10-minute walk or 2-minute drive. There are miles upon miles of magnificent coastal paths to walk, over 250 acres of ancient woodland, bridle paths, cycle trails and wildlife to enjoy. Golf enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice as the house backs on to the contemporary 9-hole, Par 3 course at Gwel an Mor, and is less than a mile from the traditional, 18-hole, Par 72 Tehidy Park Golf Club, both of which welcome day visitors. Guests can also purchase a day pass to use nearby facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool, kids soft play area, animal farm, bar, café and restaurant, or pamper yourself with numerous treatments at the spa. Cornwall Gold and Tolgus Mill are also within 1 mile.
Lots of local activities are available and include climbing, cycle hire, surfing school, and of course and sea fishing to name but a few. The area is also renowned for its North to South Coast cycle trail from Portreath to Devoran, passing through further areas of unspoilt natural beauty along disused Victorian tram lines. The area has World Heritage status with engine houses and other artefacts from past mining days, dotted around the region. Portreath beach is a great place to relax, it is family friendly and supervised by lifeguards during the main season. The wide sandy beach, with the famous Gull rock rising from the sea, is a popular body boarding and surfing haven. Portreath has a good selection of pubs, shops, a bakery, post office and grocery store, plus several beach cafés and takeaways. Head south and you reach Gwithian and Godrevey Lighthouse perched on its rocky outcrop, the perfect place to spot wildlife including seals, dolphins and an array of bird life. The wide expanse of sand dunes and beach at nearby Hayle attracts bird spotters from around the world. The bustling town of St Ives is a 20-minute drive, with its gorgeous beaches and pretty harbour. This is a Yes artist’s haven with many popular galleries, including the Tate Modern. Take the scenic coastal train to St Ives, from nearby St Erth, a great day out and an idyllic way to see the scenery and pass many more beautiful beaches on route. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
