Shark Fin - Facilities

270 degrees of stunning beach and coastal views.
The perfect relaxing retreat for families or couples.
Imagine waking up to the sunrise overlooking two of England’s best beaches at Sennen and towards Cape Cornwall, and in the evening having sunsets from the terrace overlooking the Land’s End Lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. All this from visitors’ own 270-degree living room designed in the round with seven sets of sliding patio doors leading out onto a huge decked terrace. This house is in the most stunning location nestling high on the headland at Mayon Cliff surrounded by National Trust land and the dramatic coastline towards Land’s End. Shark Fin is the ultimate architect-designed house with all the very latest hi-tech eco features. Use of the natural environment has been paramount to harness the earth’s energy. A heat pump with two 80-metre boreholes provides zoned underfloor heating to all rooms, solar panels discreetly incorporated into the rear roof slopes provide energy for hot water and photovoltaic panels for electricity generation. Sennen Cove boasts one of the loveliest stretches of sand in Cornwall and still retains much of the original atmosphere of a fishing village with its own life boat stations. A very popular spot for surfers and for families with children. This property is ideal for friends or families looking to walk or relax and watch the sun set over the ocean. On the beach there is a lovely restaurant, a café and a local village pub ‘The Old Success’. Also two other cafes, tea rooms and local shops are a short walk down the cliff from the property. Visit the nearby Minack Theatre with its open air amphitheatre cut into the cliff looking across the ocean. It is a short air trip from Land’s End airport to the Isles of Scilly.

Fabulous views will stay with us forever!

  • Sarah - Stamford, Lincs 4th October 2019

Stunning property, amazing views. Limited privacy. Lots of old cobwebs about the place , dirty extractor dripping something horrid, above the cooking hob, jacuzzi bath assumed inoperable due parts missing. No WiFi, massive problem for us. Timer clocks and Rac rechargeable torches very noisy and irritating. Some lighting not working.

The most amazing place! We had a lovely week, location was great, views excellent, accommodation perfect. Even the weather was good. I would recommend shark fin to anyone, everything has been carefully considered with quality in mind. Thank you.

Absolutely superb house in a wonderful location, with spectacular views of the coast and out to sea. Excellent for walks along the coastal path. Beautiful beach. Delightful to see the spring flowers and birds. Because at the tip of Cornwall, only scored 7 for amenities - but a few pubs nearby, the nearest served good food, and a perfect place to chill, especially as no wi-fi. We did not use the open fire, but that must be a real bonus in the winter. Imaginative, well maintained garden on several levels and places to sit outside in the sun.
