Gylly Beach View - Facilities

Fabulous, uninterrupted views across the expanse of Falmouth Bay from the open-plan living room and balcony of this contemporary third and fourth floor holiday penthouse will always provide something of interest to catch the eye. Overlooking sub-tropical Queen Mary Gardens to Gyllyngvase Beach with its renowned café/restaurant, Gylly Beach View is superbly located and perfect for walking the coastal footpath, taking kayaking, canoeing or windsurfing lessons, or accessing the town of Falmouth on foot with its busy marinas and harbour. The town has a cinema, bowling, art galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and cafés, including Rick Stein’s famous fish and chip restaurant in Events Square. The National Maritime Museum hosts over a full calendar of events including Falmouth Week with entertainment and the famous Oyster Festival; Falmouth has also been the host town to the Tall Ships Race and numerous international sailing events. Take a small ferry to St Mawes, Flushing or a trip down the scenic Helford River and creeks or enjoy the popular sea safari to watch dolphins, basking sharks and seals. Relax on one of the beautiful sandy beaches in the area, including Gyllingvase Beach. Take a walk around the coastal path just outside the apartments to nearby Swanpool Beach and nature reserve; the small cove offers watersports, a beach café and a lake where visitors can feed the swans and ducks. Falmouth golf course is just a few minutes’ drive. Unwind and relax in the spa, take a swim or use the gym as a day member, at St Michael’s Hotel, just a short walk from the apartment. The area is popular for sailing, diving, fishing and walking and the apartment also has a shared heated outdoor shower. There are numerous sub-tropical gardens to explore including nearby Trebah, Durgan and Trelissick. The area is perfect for exploring South and West Cornwall or simply relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the sea views. Shop and pub ¼ mile, restaurant 500 yards.

Gylly Beach View - Reviews

  • Alan - Maidenhead 8th January 2020

    Our stay January, 2020

One or two things need attention (Sky, Sonos, Fridge - for example) but this not detract from an otherwise great break.

  • Kieran - London 19th September 2019

    Our stay September, 2019

    Great place and fantastic location

Beware of building works at the end of the cul de sac which started at 8am through to 6pm. Before booking make sure it is completed. If disabled, do not rely on the lift. 5 days out of 7 the lift was out of order, confining disabled person to flat.

Location, location, location! Brilliantly situated with fantastic views from the balcony. Beach towels included so you can walk from the apartment for a swim and then use the outside shower to get rid of the sand. Spent the whole week without using the car, lots of walking including the south coastal footpath to Helford Passage and taking the ferry to St Maws and walking to St Just in Roseland. Trip to Truro by boat and enjoying watching the boats in the original harbour by the Chain Locker pub. Couldn’t fault the apartment ......the Sky does work, point the controller at the cupboard opposite the cooker not at the telly, WiFi good and the back of the settee does come up by lifting each section. Would definitely stay again so much more to do in the area.

Gylly beach view is in a wonderful location overlooking the beautiful Queen Mary Gardens, Gyllyngvase Beach and Falmouth Bay. On arrival apartment is stunning. It is nicely furnished and comfortable. However having stayed two years ago we were disappointed this time to find that the maintenance could have been improved. We couldn’t find any information in the file or the cushions for the outdoor furniture. When we called the caretaker to identify a specific problem she was pleasant and responded without hesitation. We stayed with friends and we hope to visit again next year.

Very comfortable apartment with room to move Only criticism was that high tech equipment did not have Any instructions which were needed Minor quibble - apartment was equipped with sky tv. Never did get it to work (see comment about lack of instruction)
