The owners have recently renovated this property in 2022 to provide a very comfortable, modern base from which to explore this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The accommodation is suitable for couples, and the wider door frames and large walk-in shower enable easy access for the less mobile. There is one small step into the property and also a grab rail in the shower. Beautifully decorated and well presented, the property has everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. After a busy day exploring, return to sit in the private courtyard with a drink, relax and watch the amazing night sky. Or snuggle up inside with a good book or a puzzle, or even enjoy entertainment on the Smart TV.
There is so much to do in the area, including a visit to Tehidy Country Park, home to a professional golf course and with 9 miles of paths to follow and 250 acres of woods and lakes to explore. For refreshment there is a café and picnic area and plenty of parking. It is a beautiful place to visit all year round with the changing seasons. Well known for its mining history, the area is littered with remnants of those times with disused engine houses; The Great Flat Lode Trail gives you a taste of what the Cornish tin mining industry was like, and a trip to the King Edward Mine or Heartlands will complete the story. Cornwall, as you would expect, also has a choice of beaches and Portreath beach is the closest. Sheltered by the steep valley, it is mostly sandy and there are lovely walks as well as well as a café.
If you want to leave the car at home, the owners will arrange transport to and from the train stations, whilst you are here you can get a daily bus ticket for £5 or a weekly one for £20 and hop on and off the buses to really see the area. The bus stop is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the property, and within a mile you will find a number of pubs serving a variety of foods. Beach 4½ miles.
