Shoelace Cottage - Facilities

This attractive adjoining stone cottage was once the home of the village cobbler. Set in the beautiful and historic south coast village of Tywardreath, it is within easy reach of the seafaring village of Fowey which offers excellent sailing, kayaking and occasional dolphin-spotting opportunities, as well as restaurants, galleries, cafés and local shops. Padstow, Truro, Newquay and St Ives are easily reached. A little further afield is Charlestown, a Georgian village with harbour, which is home to sailing ships and has been used as a TV and film set on many occasions. Shop and pub 50 yards.

Shoelace Cottage - Reviews

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location, cleanliness could do with attention to detail, and I think the living room needs either a net or a blind as it’s on the main road.

Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Perfect location for getting around and had lots of amenities in close proximity. Only slight negative was the state of the lounge. The sofas, carpet, rugs and decorations are all very run down, smelly and in need of replacement. It’s a shame because it wouldn’t take a great deal to make this room a real feature of the house.

Great cottage with all the old character features preserved. Comfortable and well-equipped. Unfortunately the local shop has closed, but the two Coops are not far away. The stairs and garden steps are steep - a bit of a struggle for some. Good bus service passes the door, and Par train station only a short walk.

Great place to stay with dogs

Really lovely old cottage, the kitchen is really well equipped with washing up liquid and oven gloves etc included as well as everything normally expected. The only negatives we found were the children's bedroom curtains were very pale, unlined and only just covered the windows, our children are older so this was not a problem but it would have been when they were younger. It was a real treat being able to stay in such a lovely house with 2 dogs, the garden is up some steps behind and this was a real plus as it meant that even though it was a small garden it was in sun for most of the day so lovely to sit out in- lots of garden furniture including table, chairs, bench and deckchairs. The beach nearby was lovely, lots of rockpools when the tide was out!
