Seashell Cottage - Reviews

  • Lesley - Warrington 7th October 2019

    Our stay October, 2019

The cottage is on a holiday park which is probably very busy during the summer, but at the time we were there in October it was very quiet. The cottage is very nice and was well equipped and in a quiet location, the only downside was the access road to the site which is very narrow.

Loved the cottage and the park which was a total suprise, i had booked last minuite and just assumed it was on a cul d sac. Hasn't realised it was on a holiday park till we arrived. Beautiful & relaxed. The cottage was perfect with everything we needed.

    Our stay June, 2019

It had the potential to be a really great holiday cottage, but we found the bed, settee and armchairs very uncomfortable. The whole place looked a little tired and could have done with a fresh coat of paint. A couple of garden chairs would have been helpful.

On the website it was given 4 out of 5 ticks so we expected that little something extra in terms of comfort and cleanliness. It was perfectly fine for our stay but a couple of niggles were the totally uncomfortable sofa, the dirty dishes and cutlery that we had to thoroughly wash before use and the state of the towels. They were described in a review over a year old as being threadbare so we expected the owner to have replaced them by the time of our visit but sadly no. However, don't be put off by this. We had a very enjoyable stay due to it's location. The local beaches are nice and Falmouth is pleasant and unpretentious. Trebah Gardens are also worth a visit.

I would say this cottage is ideal for families. Not couples like us. However we slept well and it was in a good location for exploring the southern tip of Cornwall. We would of liked some washing up liquid and a tea towel to be provided though.
