Roundhouse - Facilities

These attractive, converted farm buildings have been finished to a very good standard of holiday accommodation and are surrounded by green fields and only minutes from Perranporth. Perranporth on the dramatic North Cornwall Coast, has a stunning 3 miles of golden sand, backed by dunes and rolling fields. Right on the sand is a superb beach bar and restaurant with live music, good food and local ales. The coastal town is very family friendly with many surf, gift and local shops that line the high street that leads down to the beach. Surfing and surf hire can be found locally as well as a local golf course and horse riding which are both only minutes from Pencrennow. West of Perranporth is the coastal village of St. Agnes, and the quaint village of Crantock is to the east, both a must for the craft shops, stunning beaches and cliff walks. The surfing town of Newquay with its seven beaches is just minutes away with its many attractions which include a zoo, Sea Life Centre, Creally Adventure Park, Lappa Valley Steam Railway, leisure centre, golf course, pitch and putt course, parks and gardens. Newquay has many restaurants, cafés and shops as well as beaches and dramatic cliff top walks. With its beaches comes surf and surf schools, so you can try your hand at this exhilarating sport. Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow cobbled streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this traditional, working fishing village. This stretch of coastline is dotted with quiet beaches, secluded coves and has a rich history of smuggling. There are many National Trust houses and gardens, such as Trerice Manor, Lanhydrock House, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, all within easy reach of these lovely holiday cottages. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Roundhouse - Reviews

  • Anonymous - Rotherham 4th February 2020

    Our stay February, 2020

The supply of only 1 bath and 1 hand towel for 2 weeks was not sufficient. Additional charges for electric was surprising, when the overall charge was expensive. The cottage layout didn’t suit our needs with there being an opening in the wall between the bedroom and living room, meaning you were kept awake if one was in bed and other was in living room with light on. There was a power cut whilst there, which happens. This knocked out the microwave which we didn’t know how to reset and when raising with owner we were told it would be rectified once we left, which wasn’t suitable. The cooker didn’t seem to stay on either. There didn’t appear to be any welcome pack to tell you about the cottage, which would have helped with the stay. Overall we felt disappointed with our stay here and wouldn’t book again.
