A delightful, detached, chalet-style bungalow set under the trees in the grounds of the owner’s house. Surrounded by six acres of mature gardens, meadow and woodland, this is the perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. Just minutes from the main A30, the bungalow is ideally placed for touring Cornwall. The north coast is under 3 miles, while the attractions of the south coast, together with Truro, the Helford River and the Lizard Peninsula, can be easily reached. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
Great grounds. Lovely hosts. Lovely wood burning stove. Good access to woods for dogs. The cottage was near the road and overhung with branches so secluded. We had to sit it and light the fire . We also had to clean some areas.
'It is not a cottage, more like a modified garage. It is located amongst mature trees and does not get much sun. It is, therefore, does not benefit, internally, from any sun and is damp and smells of mould. One end of the lounge/kitchen is next to a busy road with only a wooden panel fence between the property and the traffic, including lorries and double decker buses, which resulted in a significant amount of traffic noise inside. The standard of cleanliness was inadequate, particularly the oven, its equipment and the microwave, and the bathroom blind and shower mat were mouldy. There were 3 fire alarms, one of which went off 3 times in the early hours of the morning for no good reason. It was impossible to drive the car into the property and park without the car touching overhanging shrubs, including roses, and the owners asked us to park closer to the shrubs so that their car would not be scratched. The only plus was that the garden was very pleasant but the property needs relocating and up-dating.'
Lovely cottage set in beautiful grounds. Very friendly and accommodating owners. Well situated with everything you need to hand. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Our stay August, 2019
We had a lovely relaxing time and our 2 dogs loved exploring the grounds and nearby woods.
