This spacious, detached, dog-friendly holiday cottage is set over three floors with three bathrooms, and has a lovely hand-built kitchen with dresser and large dining table. The living room with the woodburner gives way to a games room for the children with a playstation console and various board games. Set in a privileged position in the heart of this fishing village, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, you are just 200 yards from an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, and the coastal path which passes close to the property. From here you can take in the breathtaking views across the Atlantic Ocean and walk north towards Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, or south towards Polzeath, with its sandy surfing beach. Rock is a 5 mile drive from Post Isaac, where you can enjoy the many watersports on offer. You can walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line that follows the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. You can also take a ferry from Rock to Padstow, where you will find many shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. This holiday cottage is ideally situated to visit the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer including The Eden Project, a zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium at Newquay, as well as many gardens and NT properties close by. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
Excellent vacation home in a good location.
Very dated Showering caused various leaks No opening windows in kitchen Had to use one bathroom for eight people Very disappointed and left early Very expensive for what you actually got If it was a hotel would have asked to be moved A refund would not be in fair
Perfect house for a perfect location, a few things needed attention but seen to next day including a new cafetiere- being fresh coffee addicts !! Would definitely recommend this house to friends, lots to do in the area . Highlight for my 2 younger sons was the chance to go fishing with Fisherman Jeremy and catch some fish which we had for tea.
We are from Germany and did not expect a completely equipped house. We were 3 women and needed 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. Perfect for us. We liked the cleanliness and the spaciousness. Everything worked fine. We loved the great mattresses :-) The equipment was complete and useful. There is a parking space for one car. Great accommodation. Absolultely recommendable.
We had a lovely weeks stay here, the house itself had plenty of room for us all to stay (there were 4 adults, 3 children, 1 baby and 1 dog). The location was brilliant, literally on the hill leading down to the port. There were plenty of things for us to do and to keep the children entertained. We went in April and were lucky enough to watch some of the filming of Doc Martin and meet a couple of the stars. Would definitely come back to Port Isaac as it’s such a beautiful, clean and friendly place.
A lovely spacious and superbly located holiday cottage. Unfortunately it was very windy during our stay and the sash windows rattled and were draughty, but that was a price worth paying for somewhere with character! Would definitely stay at Hillside again.
Our stay February, 2020
This property is never a 4* It’s been neglected & needs serious work to get it nice again. The cleanliness & hygiene of this House is appalling. The mattress protector & duvet in one of the bedrooms were stained & had not been washed for sometime!! Would not return!!
